Toraverb 2 is D16 Group's space modulated reverb, built on a custom diffusion network of modified all-pass filters.

Separate modulation, EQ and mixing for early and late reflections, plus a built-in ducker and tempo-synced pre-delay, make it suited to colorful, non-realistic spaces.

What it does

Toraverb 2 is a "Space Modulated Reverb": an algorithmic reverb with modulated tails that does not try to emulate a real room.

Diffusion: a custom diffusing network using modified all-pass filters, with realistic cross-talk between stereo channels.
Modulated tail: modulation of the diffusion network with independent control for early and late reflections.
EQ and mixer: a single-band parametric EQ (low shelf, peak or high shelf) for each reflection engine and an early/late mixer in L/R or mid-side.
Ducker and pre-delay: a built-in ducker that lowers the effect in proportion to the dry input, and tempo-synced pre-delay.
Extras: around 100 factory presets, MIDI Learn and multiple UI sizes with HiDPI support.

The current version is 2.2.2, at sample rates of 44.1 kHz and up.

When to use it

Toraverb 2 is an effect reverb in the vein of Valhalla VintageVerb and Valhalla Supermassive, not a room simulator like D16's own Spacerek. Pick it for lush, modulated tails with a built-in ducker and separate early/late control; pick VintageVerb for classic hardware-style modes or Supermassive for extreme, very long ambient spaces.

Best for: modulated vocal and synth reverbs, pad washes and ducked reverbs that stay out of the way of the dry signal.
Genres: electronic, ambient, cinematic and pop.
Look elsewhere if: you need realistic rooms or detailed multiband EQ of the tail.
Standout: independent modulation of early and late reflections, combined with the ducker.
