Syntorus 2 by D16 Group

An analog-style chorus with three modelled bucket-brigade delay lines, based on the chorus sections of synths such as the Solina String Ensemble, Elka Synthex and Roland Juno-106.

Each delay line has its own filter, tremolo, pan and level, with three LFOs, so it covers classic synth chorus as well as ensemble, rotary-style and more experimental modulation.

Best for: Keys & Synths, Guitars, Vocals, Sound Design. Genres: Electronic & EDM, Pop, Ambient & Cinematic, Rock & Indie.

Keywords: chorus, BBD, synths, rotary, classic, hardware emulation, sound design, tremolo, warm, 80s, electric guitar, keys, metering, pads, 70s, cinematic, creative, destructive, enhancement, experimental, heavy, inspired by, MIDI-controllable, mixing, piano, resizable UI, smooth, strings, tempo-synced, thick, vintage, vocals.

What it does

Syntorus 2 is D16's analog chorus, modelled on the bucket-brigade (BBD) chorus found in classic synths such as the Solina String Ensemble, Elka Synthex and Roland Juno-106.

When to use it

Syntorus 2 is the deepest dedicated chorus among the rated plugins. Where Chorus JUN-6, TAL-Chorus-LX and Magic Switch recreate one Juno circuit with a couple of buttons, and TriceraChorus adds a tri-chorus and detune, Syntorus 2 lets you build the chorus yourself from three lines, three LFOs and per-line filters, so it can go from a Solina string ensemble to a rotary-speaker imitation or a slow, detuned pad texture.
