What it does

Lush 2 is a "Multilayer Polyphonic Synthesizer" built around eight independent layers, each a full analog-style synth voice with its own parameters and polyphony. Layers can be stacked, split or used multitimbrally.

The current version is 2.1.5, at 44.1 to 192 kHz.

When to use it

Lush 2 covers similar analog-style ground to u-he Diva, TAL-U-NO-LX and Arturia Pigments 7, but its eight-layer design sets it apart. Choose it for big stacked leads, layered pads and multitimbral patches from one instance; choose Diva or TAL-U-NO-LX for a single circuit-modeled voice, or Pigments 7 for wavetable and granular engines.

What producers say

Reviewers find it big-sounding and easy to use; older LuSH-101 users noted heavy CPU use.
