What it does

Psychedelic Synths is a preset-based instrument in Cradle's State Machine series: "an iridescent palette of vintage synth sounds" inspired by retro psychedelia and its modern revival. It aims at pads, trippy leads and arpeggios rather than synth programming.

It has a 14-day free trial.

When to use it

Psychedelic Synths is the cheaper, faster pick when you want one retro, trippy mood ready to play. Compared with Arturia's Analog Lab Pro, it has far fewer sounds and no real synth models to program, but its chord, arp and scale tools get you to a finished idea quickly. Against Pigments 7 or Diva it is a sound palette, not a synth: you tweak presets instead of building patches. It suits songwriters who want vintage colour without learning a synth.
