Galactic Reverb

Not rated yet
Galactic Reverb is an algorithmic reverb based on classic digital hardware reverbs, using the same algorithm found in Cherry Audio's Dreamsynth.
Decay runs up to 35 seconds, and built-in ducking lowers the tail while the source plays, for $19.
Best for: Vocals, Guitars, Keys & Synths, Drums. Genres: all genres.
Keywords: ducking, electric guitar, keys, vocals, algorithmic, drums, synths, simple, bus processing, classic, digital classic, dry, mixing, smooth.
What it does
Galactic Reverb takes the reverb algorithm from Cherry Audio's Dreamsynth and turns it into a standalone effect, adding modulation, predelay and EQ. It is built for long, spacey tails, with ducking so they stay out of the way of the dry sound.
- Decay: from 0 to 35,000 ms, so tails can run up to 35 seconds.
- Predelay: 0 to 500 ms.
- Damping: shapes how quickly the tail loses its high end.
- Modulation: an adjustable rate (the page lists 0.10 Hz to 5.00 kHz) for movement in the tail.
- Ducking: lowers the reverb while the input plays, with attenuation and recovery time controls and no sidechain setup.
- EQ: low and high controls on the reverb signal.
- Use and presets: works as an insert or on a bus, in mono or stereo, with over 50 presets sorted into Drums, Ducking, Guitars, Keys and Vocals.
A free 30-day demo is fully working but plays periodic white noise.

When to use it
Galactic Reverb is a cheap, simple choice for long modulated tails that duck under the dry signal. Compared with Valhalla Supermassive, which is free and has many more modes, it offers a single algorithm but adds a built-in ducker. Against VintageVerb it has no colour modes or choice of plate, room and hall types, so it is less versatile for classic spaces. FabFilter Pro-R 2 gives far more detailed EQ and visual feedback, at a much higher price.
- Best for: long, modulated tails on vocals, keys, synths and guitars, and ducked reverbs that leave room for the lead.
- Genres: ambient, pop, electronic and soundtrack work.
- Look elsewhere if: you need realistic rooms or many reverb types; Valhalla Room or VintageVerb cover that better.
What producers say
Feedback is limited but positive, centred on the very long, smooth tails.
- KVR users rate it 5 out of 5 from 1 review. The reviewer praised the long, ethereal decays and simple controls, and said it is "never boring or synthetic".
- Uses and value: the same KVR reviewer found it works on keys, synths, percussion and guitars, and rated its quality for the price highly.
