Removes clipped samples and reconstructs the waveform that would have existed without the clipping, restoring dynamic range as well as removing distortion.
An Auto mode tracks the clipping level, so it can still repair audio that was compressed or limited after it clipped.

What it does
Declip 2 is CEDAR's tool to "eliminate clipping distortion with ease," for music and speech recordings that overloaded on the way in.
- Reconstruction: replaces the clipped samples with a reconstruction of the original signal, removing the distortion and improving clarity.
- Dynamic range: restores the original dynamic range of the damaged audio rather than just softening the clipping.
- Auto mode: tracks the clipping amplitude, so material processed with dynamics after it clipped can still be repaired.
- Uses: recovering vocal takes, podcasts, streams and other overloaded recordings.

When to use it
Pick Declip 2 when clipping is your main problem and you want a standalone repair plugin with an auto-tracking mode for audio that was compressed after clipping, rather than the declippers inside larger repair suites such as iZotope RX 12 and Acon Digital Restoration Suite 2.
- Best for: clipped vocal takes, overloaded dialogue and podcasts, and live or streamed recordings that hit the ceiling.
