What it does
Cactus Clipper is a soft clipper with a variable knee and a saturation circuit, for either clean loudness or gritty analog-style saturation.
- Clipping: variable knee, with a Drive control to shape the saturation.
- Gain: linkable input and output gain, with automatic balancing between processed and original levels.
- Metering: real-time display of how much is being clipped.

When to use it
Pick it for gentle peak control that adds a little warmth, such as on drum buses, loud masters or synth bass. It is gentler than Canvas Audio's companion Prickly Clip, the harder-edged option, and less heavily featured than the rated clippers StandardCLIP and KClip 3.
Best for pop, hip-hop and electronic tracks where you want level without a limiter's pumping.
