Chandler Limited GAV19T
by Brainworx · Amp Sim · British tube amp emulation
Not rated yet
Brainworx's native Plugin Alliance emulation of the Chandler Limited GAV19T, a dual-EL84 boutique amp inspired by Selmer, Vox and Marshall designs. This is the native version; a UAD version is listed separately under Universal Audio.
It pairs a preamp-only bias control and a four-mode power amp drive with Baxandall tone controls, 75 cabinet impulse responses, and a gate, delay and power soak the hardware lacks.
Best for: Guitars. Genres: Rock & Indie, Pop, R&B & Soul, Jazz, Acoustic & Classical.
Keywords: hardware emulation, tube, electric guitar, crunchy, classic, impulse-response based, inspired by, vocals, wet, clean, heavy, low latency, subscription, tracking, vintage.
What it does
Chandler Limited GAV19T is Brainworx's recreation of Chandler's boutique guitar head, sold by Plugin Alliance ("Chandler's take on classic tube amp tone"). The amp was inspired by classic British amps such as Selmer, Vox and Marshall, and the plugin runs from clean to crunch to heavy overdrive.
- Bias control: emulates hotter or colder preamp tubes for different flavors of distortion, affecting only the preamp tube bias.
- Four-mode Drive: Treble Boost, Full Range, Aggressive and Mids, with a boost amount, acting on the power amp section.
- Baxandall tone controls: wide-range curves that allow large frequency changes without changing the amp's basic tone.
- 75 impulse responses: multiple speaker cabinets recorded at the Brainworx studio with its mics and outboard gear.
- Extras: a noise gate, delay and power soak not found on the original amp, plus low-latency monitoring for tracking and re-amping DI parts.
It is included in Plugin Alliance's CORE and PRO subscriptions and has a 14-day trial.

When to use it
The GAV19T is a single, focused EL84 amp rather than a collection like AmpliTube 5 MAX or Helix Native. Among the site's other British-voiced amps, Softube's Marshall Bluesbreaker 1962 or Marshall Plexi Super Lead 1959 cover specific Marshall sounds instead. The UAD Chandler Limited GAV19T Amplifier uses the same Brainworx model for Apollo and UAD hardware.
- Best for: low-to-medium gain British crunch, edge-of-breakup rhythm parts and vintage-style leads.
- Genres: indie, alt-rock, classic rock, pop and blues-leaning styles.
- Look elsewhere if: you need American-style cleans, high-gain metal or a full multi-amp modeler.
- Standout: the power-amp-only Drive modes and preamp bias control, which shape the breakup in ways a gain knob alone does not.
What producers say
Reviewers describe it as an accurate, focused British-crunch amp; the main limits noted are its single voicing and the lack of a cab bypass.
- Benoni Studio (2024) called it a faithful emulation and said "the tone is spot on," adding that it is "perfect for any lower gain style of guitar."
- Lord Reverb (2026) scored it 4.1/5 and called it "a rare plugin that does one thing with conviction," with medium CPU load.
- Gripe: Lord Reverb noted "No dedicated cab-bypass for external IR loaders" and that it is the wrong tool for Fender cleans or 6L6 grit.
