What it does
bx_subfilter is a free low-end plugin for adding clarity and definition to bass and kick.
- Tight Punch: a knob with a resonant high-pass filter to shape problem frequencies.
- Resonance: Low, High and Extreme peak settings.
- Low End: a fixed bandpass filter for balancing the bottom.
- Origin: borrows from the filter section of bx_subsynth.
Version 1.10.0 is free.

When to use it
Meant for tightening up muddy bass DI tracks and adding punch to kick drums. Unlike bx_subsynth, which generates new sub frequencies, it filters and reshapes what is already there. Best for rock, metal, hip-hop and electronic low-end work.
