What it does

bx_meter is a free level meter that shows peak and RMS together, so you can see how squashed a mix is.

Levels: Peak and RMS values with centred, dynamic LEDs showing the relationship between the two, plus Peak Hold and RMS functions.
Stereo: L/R or Mid/Side metering, balance and correlation meters, and solo listen buttons.
Weighting: A, C and K filters.
Display: a floating dynamic LED mode.

Version 1.18.0 is free.

When to use it

A simple, no-cost meter for keeping an eye on dynamic range and stereo balance while mixing or mastering. It is more limited than loudness-focused meters with LUFS histories and true-peak analysis, but it is easy to read at a glance. Use it to check whether compression or limiting has gone too far.
