A free emulation of the ProCo RAT 2 distortion pedal.
- Controls: Distortion, Filter and Volume, as on the pedal.
- Range: from warm overdrive through creamy, tube-like distortion to fuzz, according to Brainworx.
- Plugin extras: mono or stereo operation, automation and stereo bus processing, which the pedal cannot do.
- Free: light on CPU.

When to use it
A simple, no-cost way to add RAT-style grit to guitars, bass, drums or synths. It is one pedal with three knobs, not a full distortion suite. For a wide choice of distortion types in one plugin, FabFilter Saturn 2 or Trash are more flexible.
Where to buy
- Plugin Alliance: $29
