What it does

Mongoose 2 is a mid-side processor that sums the low end to mono and lets the highs be widened.

Mono bass: sums frequencies below an adjustable crossover to mono.
Width: a control to widen the high frequencies.
Phase: Boz says summing to mono causes no phase issues.
Use: light on CPU, on single tracks or the master bus.

When to use it

A quick way to tighten bass and keep the low end mono-safe while the top stays wide. It is meant for stereo tracks. Unlike Width Knob and Pan Knob 2, Boz's other imaging tools, Mongoose is the one focused on bass.

Best for: electronic, pop and hip-hop mixes and masters that need to translate on club systems and phones.
