What it does
Gatey Watey is a gate that turns down only the high or low frequencies below the threshold, rather than the whole signal.
- Frequency-selective gating: choose to attenuate highs or lows when the signal falls under the threshold.
- Look-ahead: preserves transients.
- Behaviour: designed to avoid gate chatter and audible artifacts.
- Interface: simple and quick to use.

When to use it
Reach for it when a normal gate sounds abrupt: the noise is reduced but the track keeps its body. Big Beautiful Door 2 from the same developer is the better fit for drum gating and creative EQ shaping.
- Best for: noisy guitars, vocals and other sources where hiss or rumble sits below the wanted signal.
