Ampknob Fatman by Bogren Digital

Single-knob guitar amp plugin from Bogren Digital: one gain-style control over a fully dialed amp, cabinet and mic chain.

Best for: Guitars. Genres: Metal, Rock & Indie.

Keywords: electric guitar, single knob, warm, bass, 50s, beginner-friendly, classic, clean, crunchy, hardware emulation, impulse-response based, minimal controls, spring, standalone app, vintage.

What it does

Ampknob Fatman is based on a vintage 1950s amp originally designed for bass players, which became popular with guitarists for warm, weighty tones without harshness.

When to use it

Fatman is the warm, bass-amp-derived option: thicker and rounder than the metal-voiced AmpKnobs, with more to adjust than most of them (drive, reverb, pan). Like the other AmpKnobs, it has almost nothing to adjust, which suits players who want a finished tone quickly.
