What it does
Miaow Wah is a wah pedal simulator that Blue Cat calls an "augmented" wah. It started inside the developer's Axiom guitar software and became a standalone plugin, covering classic wah plus filter and modulation sounds a normal pedal can't make.
- Wah models: 29 predefined models inspired by classic wah pedals.
- Custom Wah Editor: build your own wah filter when none of the models fits.
- Expression pedal: sweep the wah by hand or with automation, as with a real pedal.
- Envelope follower: an auto-wah mode that moves the filter with the dynamics of the input.
- LFO: a third control mode that sweeps the filter on its own and can sync to the host tempo.
- Presets: 200+ factory presets, going beyond wah into flanger-like tones, univibe, phasing and filtered tremolo.
- Tone Maps: a browser for exploring the sound space and finding new tones quickly.
KVR lists version 1.01.

When to use it
Miaow Wah is the better pick when you want a convincing wah or auto-wah rather than a general creative filter. Compared with FilterFreak and Volcano 3 it is narrower and much cheaper, but it gives you 29 wah pedal models and a pedal-style control instead of generic filter shapes. Compared with WOW2 or Filterverse it has far less modulation and sequencing, though its envelope and LFO modes cover auto-wah, univibe-style and tremolo sounds. As a single effect it is also simpler than loading a full amp suite just for its wah.
- Best for: wah and auto-wah on guitar, bass, clavinet, electric piano and synths.
- Genres: funk, rock, soul, blues and electronic music.
- Look elsewhere if: you want a general modulated filter with many filter types; FilterFreak or Volcano 3 do more.
