What it does

BLEASS Flanger is a delay-based flanger that takes the sound of classic flangers and adds more modulation: two LFOs, an envelope follower and beat sync. BLEASS sums it up as "2 LFOs, 3 stages of modulation and beat synchronization".

The current version is 1.3.0 (desktop). A trial with full features is available.

When to use it

BLEASS Flanger is the better pick for cheap, heavily modulated flanging: two LFOs with six shapes, a second LFO that can move feedback or width, and an envelope follower. Compared with Eventide's Instant Flanger Mk II, which is modelled on Eventide's own hardware flanger, it is less about one classic tape-style sound and more about building animated, synced sweeps. Unlike MicroShift, which is a subtle widener, it makes an obvious jet-like sweep, and it is narrower in scope than UberMod's multi-tap modulation delays. Its polarity switch gives both the hollow negative flange and the usual additive sound.
