What it does
BLEASS Filter is a single filter effect with an envelope follower and an LFO, built around a large on-screen graph. BLEASS describes a vintage analogue-style filter with visual feedback that "can be read and understood at a glance."
- Four filter types: low-pass, high-pass, band-pass and notch, with cutoff and resonance set by dragging on the graph.
- X2 button: doubles the filter for a steeper slope, or a wider notch in notch mode.
- Envelope follower: input gain and sensitivity set how strongly the input drives the cutoff, with attack, release and a switchable polarity for upward or downward sweeps.
- LFO shapes: sine, triangle, saw up, saw down, square and sample-and-hold.
- LFO timing: free-running from 16 seconds down to 50 ms, or synced to the host from 4 bars to 1/32 notes, with a phase offset in sync mode.
- Stereo: a stereo control offsets the LFO phase between the left and right channels for a wider, moving sweep.
- Metering: input, envelope and LFO meters next to the filter graph, so you can see what is moving the cutoff.

When to use it
BLEASS Filter is the pick for a cheap, easy filter with an envelope follower and a synced LFO, where you can see the sweep as it happens. Compared with Volcano 3 and FilterFreak, it has one filter and one model instead of several, and no multi-filter routing or step modulation, but it costs a fraction of the price. Unlike FilterShaper XL, it has no drawable modulation curves, only fixed LFO shapes.
- Best for: auto-wah and envelope sweeps on drums, bass and guitars, tempo-synced filter movement on synths and pads, and quick tone shaping.
