What it does
BLEASS Chorus is a stereo chorus that the developer says goes from "subtle classic chorus effects to crazy textures". It is meant for synths, percussion, samples and vocals, with room for sound design beyond plain thickening.
- Up to four voices: you set the number of delay lines, and each chorus voice is fully stereo.
- Input filter: high-pass or low-shelf modes before the effect; high-pass keeps the low end clean and airy, the shelf suits warm thickening or lo-fi tones.
- Modulation controls: delay time, LFO rate, depth, offset, width and feedback, plus input gain and a dry/wet mix.
- Left/right control: separate left and right depth, with an option to link them, and precise stereo width control.
- Oscilloscope: a real-time display of the LFO that can be paused to see what the modulation is doing.
- Presets and CPU: comes with a range of presets, and the developer stresses an efficient, low-CPU engine.
KVR lists version 1.7.0.
When to use it
BLEASS Chorus is cheap, gives you up to four stereo voices with feedback and an input filter, and shows the modulation on a scope. It sits between TriceraChorus and Chorus JUN-6, the rated picks for classic analog chorus tones (TAL-Chorus-LX is a free Juno-style option), and Syntorus 2 and Flex Chorus, which go further on multi-voice, design-oriented chorus. That makes it better for building your own wide textures than for copying one vintage unit, and it is easy on CPU across many tracks.
- Best for: widening synths and vocals, thickening percussion and samples, and designing multi-voice chorus textures cheaply.
- Genres: any; chorus is used across pop, electronic, rock and ambient music.
- Look elsewhere if: you want the sound of a specific vintage chorus; TriceraChorus or Chorus JUN-6 are closer, and TAL-Chorus-LX is free.
- Tip: use the high-pass input filter to keep the low end out of the chorus and add air; switch to the shelf for warmer, lo-fi thickening.
