When to use it
A classic VCA-style bus compressor for drum, vocal, guitar and mix buses. Bettermaker describes it as a little more forgiving and surgical than the hardware, so it can also work as a de-esser on vocals.
- Best for: gluing drum and mix buses, and parallel compression with the Mix knob.
- Look elsewhere if: you want several compressor characters in one plugin; the C502V and Mastering Compressor from the same developer offer three modes.
Where to buy
- Plugin Alliance: $150
