Wurly by AudioThing

Wurly recreates the Wurlitzer 200 and 200A reed electric pianos with a hybrid of physical modeling and samples.

It has pickup, tremolo and noise controls plus overdrive, phaser, flanger and spring reverb, for $69.

Best for: Keys & Synths. Genres: R&B & Soul, Pop, Rock & Indie, Lo-Fi, Jazz, Acoustic & Classical.

Keywords: electric piano, hardware emulation, physical modelling, hybrid, 60s, 70s, BBD, dirty, heavy, lo-fi, randomize, vintage.

What it does

Wurly is AudioThing's emulation of the Wurlitzer 200 and 200A reed electric pianos. It combines physical modeling of the instrument's electric and mechanical sections with samples, aiming to recreate the sound and response of the originals while giving detailed control over both.

Version 1.3 (26 May 2026) added MIDI Learn and ASIO support. The demo inserts 3 seconds of silence every 45 seconds and disables saving.

When to use it

Wurly is the pick when you want one dedicated Wurlitzer with hands-on control of its noises, bark and grit, at a modest price. Compared with Keyscape and Addictive Keys, which include Wurlitzers among many sampled keyboards, it is much lighter and cheaper but covers only the 200 and 200A. Unlike Pianoteq 9, which is fully modeled, it blends modeling with samples, and it ships with its own overdrive, phaser, flanger and spring reverb chain. Its detailed mechanical noise and clank controls go further than most single-sound Wurlitzer patches.

What producers say

Keyboard players like its sound and character controls; most complaints were about MIDI control in early versions.
