What it does
Type A emulates the encode stage of a Dolby A noise reduction system and works as a dynamic enhancer, adding brightness and presence.
- How it works: it compresses high frequencies more when the signal is quiet, giving enhancement without distortion.
- Bands: a four-band compressor, with advanced controls for band volume, attack, release, noise level and VU meter source.
- Extras: adjustable unit noise, oversampling up to 16x, light and dark interface modes, and a preset randomizer.

When to use it
Type A is an enhancer, not a saturator, so it adds air and clarity in a way tape or tube plugins do not. Use it to open up dull recordings, vocals and full mixes.
