Reverb plugin from AudioThing.
Best for: Vocals, Keys & Synths. Genres: Ambient & Cinematic.
Keywords: vocals, synths, bass, CPU-light, mixing, randomize, sound design, pads.
What it does
The Orb is a formant filter that turns any sound into vowel-like tones.
- Filters: three zero-delay-feedback band-pass filters that model vowel formants.
- Vowel sets: male, female, child and custom sets, with an editor for vowel names and frequencies.
- Modulation: three LFOs for vowel, emphasis (resonance) and drift (frequency shift).
- Interface: a circular display where the sector chooses the vowel, the dot's distance sets emphasis and the sector angle sets drift.
- Presets with a randomizer, parameter lock and low CPU use.

When to use it
The Orb is a creative filter, not a reverb. It gives synths, drums and noise a talking, vocal-like quality, which the rated reverbs and general EQs do not do.
- Best for: talking synth and bass lines, vocal-style pads, sound design.
Where to buy
