What it does
Mantis emulates a rare 1970s Carlsbro bucket-brigade (BBD) echo unit, which AudioThing describes as having a "warm and analog sound".
- Echo section: four taps and four swell selectors.
- Rotafaze modulation: adds tape-like wow and flutter or chorus-delay movement.
- Two modes: Vintage, with an adjustable base delay of 1.02 ms to 102.4 ms, and Modern, up to one second and tempo-syncable.
- Extras: preset randomizer and a resizable interface.

When to use it
Mantis is a compact, characterful BBD delay with unusual multi-tap patterns, so it is quite different from clean digital delays or tape echoes such as Galaxy Tape Echo. Best for short slaps, chorusing repeats and moody tap patterns on guitars, keys and synths.
- Genres: psychedelic, indie, dub and electronic.
