What it does
Environments is a convolution reverb built from impulse responses of three historic spaces, combined with an interactive room simulator to make what AudioThing calls "living, playable reverbs".
- Spaces: three environments, each with two positions: Temple of Mercury (Baia), Piscina Mirabilis (Bacoli) and Cisternone (Livorno).
- Room simulator: reshapes the character of the space.
- Gestures layer: extra convolution from resonant objects and feedback devices.
- Modulation: two LFOs, plus a preset randomizer.

When to use it
Environments has a small number of large, distinctive spaces instead of a big library of everyday rooms and plates, so it is more of a creative reverb than a utility one. Good for ambient, cinematic and experimental work; for realistic rooms and halls, Altiverb 8 or Seventh Heaven fit better.
