What it does

A free four-band EQ with no frequency, gain or Q readouts, so you have to set it by ear. AudioThing cites mastering engineer Matt Wallace's view that EQ decisions should come from sound, not from a display.

Bands: low shelf, low mid, high mid and high shelf.
Blind controls: no numerical displays; version 1.1 and later can optionally show the values.
Extras: presets with a randomizer and low CPU use.

When to use it

Blindfold EQ is an exercise in listening more than a rival to full-featured EQs like Pro-Q 4. Use it for quick, instinctive tone shaping on any source, or to train your ears away from the analyzer.

Look elsewhere if: you need precise, repeatable surgical cuts or visual feedback.
