What it does

XenoVerb is Audiority's "Creative Multi Algorithm Reverb": one plugin that holds classic rooms, halls and plates next to more experimental spaces, behind a clean, simple interface. It was first released in 2017 and was refreshed in 2025.

Version 1.6 (October 2025) updated the framework and the interface and added the new algorithms, Freeze mode, Kill Switch and a preset browser. A demo is available that outputs 3 seconds of silence every minute.

When to use it

XenoVerb is a good pick when you want both everyday reverbs and odd creative ones in a single, cheap plugin. Compared with Valhalla Supermassive or Eventide Blackhole, it is less focused on endless ambient washes but covers more ground, from rooms and plates to spring, formant and Bode effects. It is not as detailed or visual as FabFilter Pro-R 2, which offers realistic, finely editable spaces with EQ and decay displays. Against VintageVerb it is less about one era's character and more about range, and it adds freeze, a limiter and MIDI control.

What producers say

The main published review is very positive, praising the range of algorithms and the light CPU load.
