What it does

GK Amplification 3 PRO is Audified's most complete Gallien-Krueger bass amp plugin, modelling three GK heads with matching cabinets, microphones and studio tools. Audified calls it its "most advanced GK plugin".

800RB: the 1982 transistor head of 1980s rock, with bi-amp output and a variable crossover frequency.
a compact solid-state amp with parametric mids and voicing filters, suited to jazz as well as rock.
2001 RB: the flagship, with two channels, bi-amp technology, an active 4-band EQ and voicing controls.
Cabinets: three matching cabinets with woofer and tweeter options, which can run as twin cabs in parallel, plus an A-B control for comparing settings.
Microphones: nine industry-standard mics, each with adjustable position, angle and distance.
Smart Gate and compressor: the gate's Learn function sets the threshold for you; a simple slider compressor evens out uneven playing.
Tuner and IR loader: a built-in tuner, and custom impulse responses for other cabinets.

A free trial is available, and owners of the cheaper LE edition can upgrade.

When to use it

GK Amplification 3 PRO is the pick for the punchy, clear solid-state Gallien-Krueger tone, with gate, compressor, tuner and IR loader built in. Compared with AmpliTube 5 MAX or Guitar Rig 7 Pro, it covers far fewer amps, and MusicRadar noted that multi-brand suites give more variety at a similar price. In return it goes deeper on one brand, with bi-amp crossovers, nine positionable mics and twin cabs. Compared with Ampeg-based plugins such as the SVT-VR, it trades tube warmth for tighter, brighter GK punch that suits slap and funk.

Best for: DI bass tracks that need a full amp, cab and mic chain in one plugin, and slap and fingerstyle parts that need definition.
Genres: rock, funk, pop and jazz.
Look elsewhere if: you want Ampeg tube tone (an SVT model), heavy modern distortion (Darkglass Ultimate), or many amp brands in one package (AmpliTube 5 MAX).
Tip: MusicRadar found that adjusting the 800RB's crossover quickly gives a funkier, slap-friendly tone.

What producers say

Reviewers rate the GK modelling highly; the only real reservation is that it covers just one amp brand.

MusicRadar (Andy Price, 2023) called it "a solid emulation of an amp legend", praising the Smart Gate, the mic positioning and a stress-free interface, and said the 800RB has "seriously awe-inspiring strength".
Plugin Nerds praised the "tight, punchy low end with just the right amount of grit" and the value, and suggested using presets as starting points and blending two speakers with different mic placements.
Criticisms: both reviews note it models only Gallien-Krueger, where other suites offer a wider range of amps.
