What it does
Graillon 3 is Auburn Sounds' live voice changer and pitch corrector. It runs with zero added latency, and the free edition covers most of what many vocalists need.
- Free Edition: pitch correction (natural to hard-tune), pitch shifting and formant shifting, plus one-button vocal effects: compressor, gate, chorus, preamp and bitcrusher.
- Three pitch engines: G3 (faster detection, better high notes), G2 (the Graillon 2 sound) and I1 from Auburn's Inner Pitch, more natural but about seven times heavier on CPU.
- Full Edition: Pitch-Tracking Modulation for aggressive textures, per-note tuning (±100 cents) for tunings beyond equal temperament, and a vocal doubler.
- Stereo linking: for processing stereo vocals as one.

When to use it
Graillon 3 is the free entry point to this category. It does the real-time auto-tune job of Waves Tune Real-Time and MetaTune and the pitch and formant tricks of Little AlterBoy in one plugin, with no added latency. It has no graphical editor like Melodyne 5 or Auto-Tune Pro 11's Graph Mode.
- Best for: free or cheap hard-tune, monitoring through tuning while tracking, and voice changing for sound design or streaming.
- Genres: hip-hop, trap, pop and electronic.
- Look elsewhere if: you need surgical note editing (Melodyne 5, RePitch 2) or harmony generation (Waves Harmony).
- Tip: use G3 while tracking and try I1 at mixdown when you want the most natural sound.
