What it does
Rev PLATE-140 emulates the EMT 140 plate reverb from the 1960s.
- Plates: three modelled plates with adjustable damping.
- Signal chain: a vacuum-tube preamp with gain, pre-delay, a high-pass filter and a three-band parametric EQ after the reverb.
- Modulation: integrated chorus, before or after the reverb.
- Other: dry/wet, width and a resizable interface with built-in tutorials.
It is in both FX Collection Pro and Intro.
When to use it
Rev PLATE-140 is a plate-only reverb, so it does one thing and is easy to dial in. It's the classic choice for vocals and snare. Unlike multi-algorithm reverbs such as VintageVerb or Pro-R 2, which cover plates as one option among many, it focuses on plates alone.
- Best for: vocals, snares, guitars and keys.
- Genres: rock, pop, soul, jazz and singer-songwriter.
