What it does
Rev LX-24 emulates a classic 1970s to 80s digital hardware reverb, with modern additions.
- Algorithms: eight, including Small Hall A/B, Room A, Plates, Chamber and Perc Plate A.
- Views: a Classic View with the slider layout of the original, and an Advanced View with a visual editor, pitch shift and diffusion.
- Dynamics: ducking, gate and tremolo.
- Converters: emulated 12- and 24-bit modes, or a modern mode.
- Controls: decay, damping, pre-delay, crossover, distance and dry/wet; 100 presets.
It is in FX Collection Pro.
When to use it
Rev LX-24 gives the shimmery digital reverb sound of the 80s, in contrast to the smoother, more modern sound of the rated VintageVerb or Pro-R 2. It is closer in idea to those than to Arturia's plate and spring reverbs.
- Best for: vocals, drums, guitars and synths in 80s-flavoured mixes.
- Genres: pop, synth-pop, new wave, R&B and ambient.
Where to buy
- Arturia: $79 (US price (Arturia lists the same amount in USD and EUR))
