A lo-fi synth with two engine slots, each able to load a realistic instrument, a creative sampler or a lo-fi oscillator, run through vintage degradation modes.
It models the grit of samplers such as the MPC and SP-1200 and adds a noise engine with 190+ textures, so the lo-fi character is built into the instrument.

What it does
Pure LoFi is a "vintage-inspired softsynth combining degradation, sampling, and textures for instant nostalgic sound design."
- Two engines: two parallel slots, each using a Realistic Instrument, Creative Sampler or Lofi Oscillator engine, drawing on 40+ multisampled instruments, 130+ waveforms and 130+ melodic samples.
- Hardware degradation: nine modes per engine modeled on vintage gear including MPC, SP1200, CMI, SK1 and EMU, plus custom Deteriorate, Damage and Crush modes.
- LoFi processor and filters: six degradation styles with six parameters, and Clean, Analog or LoFi filter types.
- Noise engine: 190+ curated textures and transient layers.
- FX and control: four FX slots with 18 effects, drag-and-drop modulation, 250+ presets, MPE, NKS and MTS-ESP microtuning.

When to use it
Pure LoFi builds the grit into the instrument, with sampler-style degradation models, noise textures and ready-made instruments. That differs from effects such as XLN Audio RC-20 Retro Color, Aberrant DSP SketchCassette II and Arturia's own Tape MELLO-FI, which degrade audio you already have. Pick it when you want to play lo-fi keys and textures directly rather than processing another synth.
- Best for: dusty keys, sample-style chords, textural beds and lo-fi melodic loops.
- Genres: lo-fi, hip-hop, R&B, chillwave and ambient.
- Look elsewhere if: you want to add lo-fi character to existing tracks; RC-20 or SketchCassette II process any source.
