What it does
Pre TridA models the preamp and EQ of the Trident A Range console, a rare 1976 mixing desk.
- EQ: four bands (high, high-mid, low-mid, low) with switchable frequencies.
- Preamp: 40 dB of continuous input gain for saturation and harmonic character.
- Filters: high- and low-pass filters with several frequency options.
- Transformers: switchable original Carnill or modified Marinair voicing.
- Stereo: mid/side mode, output trim and VU metering with three calibration modes.
It is in FX Collection Pro.
When to use it
Pre TridA is the brighter, more open counterpart to Pre 1973: the Trident A Range EQ is known for its musical high end. Its four-band EQ gives more control than the three bands on Pre 1973.
- Best for: adding air and clarity to vocals, drums, acoustic guitars and mixes.
- Genres: pop, rock, funk and singer-songwriter.
Where to buy
- Arturia: $49 (US price (Arturia lists the same amount in USD and EUR))
