What it does
Memory V is Arturia's "analog ladder titan": an "accurate emulation of the legendary 1982 Memorymoog, including 300+ presets."
- Oscillators: three free-running oscillators per voice with ramp, triangle and square waves, sync from oscillator 1 to 2 and 3, and oscillator 3 usable as an audio-rate modulator; Poly 6 and Poly 12 voicing modes.
- Filter: a 24 dB/oct Moog-style low-pass ladder with an optional 12 dB mode, Bass Compensation and a drive stage with soft clipping.
- Modulation: a polyphonic LFO, Voice Modulation from oscillator 3 or the filter envelope, three extra modulator slots and four macros, with MPE and aftertouch.
- Multi-Arp and FX: a four-layer Multi-Arp and a four-slot FX rack with 17+ effects.
- Character: unison with detune and spread, Vintage and Dispersion controls for analog drift, and a real-time oscilloscope.
KVR lists version 1.0.0.
When to use it
Memory V is the polyphonic Moog option, with three oscillators per voice and a ladder filter across up to 12 voices. Unlike Universal Audio Moog Minimoog, which models the monophonic Model D, it is polyphonic, and where u-he Diva and u-he Repro offer several classic analog architectures with deep component modeling, it sticks to the Memorymoog. Pick it for fat poly brass, pads and stacked basses in the Memorymoog style.
- Best for: big polyphonic brass and pads, unison leads and thick bass.
- Genres: synth-pop, electronic, cinematic and rock.
- Look elsewhere if: you want a wider range of synth models in one instrument; Diva covers more ground.
- Standout: polyphonic Moog ladder filtering with three oscillators per voice.
