What it does
EQ SITRAL-295 recreates modules from 1970s Siemens Sitral broadcast console equalisers, specifically the W293 and W295b.
- Bands: high-pass filter (20-320 Hz), low-pass filter, low and high shelves, and a Praesenz bell with frequency and gain.
- Range knob: scales the overall response to 1.0, 0.75, 0.50 or 0.25.
- Modes: stepped or continuous controls, an Alternative mode with a more contemporary, crunchier sound, stereo L/R or mid/side, and auto-gain.
- Extras: spectrum analyser, presets and tutorials.
When to use it
A broad, musical tone-shaping EQ in the spirit of the Pultec collections, but with Siemens broadcast character and fewer surgical tools than FabFilter Pro-Q 4 or TDR Nova.
- Best for: gentle tonal shaping on vocals, drums, buses and full mixes.
- Look elsewhere if: you need precise, narrow-band corrective EQ.
