What it does
Delay BRIGADE emulates the Electro-Harmonix Memory Man and Deluxe Memory Man bucket-brigade delay pedals from the mid-1970s.
- Delay types: left/right, ping pong and mid/side.
- Modulation: an LFO with 16 destinations and an envelope follower.
- Tone: input EQ with low-pass, high-pass and peak filters, plus stereo width controls.
- Extras: DAW tempo sync, resizable interface and built-in tutorials; built with Arturia's TAE and Phi modeling.
When to use it
A warm, dark analog delay with chorus-style movement. Compared with Arturia's Delay TAPE-201, the rated tape option from the same developer, BRIGADE is the choice when you want the murkier, modulated repeats of a Memory Man.
- Best for: guitars, synths and vocals that need a lush, slightly degraded echo.
- Genres: indie, shoegaze, ambient and dub.
Where to buy
- Arturia: $49 (US price (Arturia lists the same amount in USD and EUR))
