What it does
Bus PEAK is a mastering-oriented limiter with a clipper, a three-stage limiter and tone control in one chain.
- Modules: input gain, a clipper (transparent or coloured), a three-stage limiter with character control, bass and treble dynamic shelving limiters, and a True Peak limiter.
- Metering: loudness metering with adjustable LUFS targets, plus Equal Loudness matching for A/B comparison.
- Monitoring: Delta Listen isolates what the limiter is removing.
- Extras: four quality modes (Tracking, Mixing, Mastering, Render), 34 presets, and light and dark themes.
When to use it
Bus PEAK competes with limiters like FabFilter Pro-L 2 and Ozone Maximizer by combining clipping, limiting and shelving tone control. The dynamic shelves are its distinctive feature.
- Best for: loudness on the mix bus, drum groups and mastering, with LUFS targets built in.
- Look elsewhere if: you want a very simple one-knob maximiser.
