What it does

Auto-Tune Pro 11 (now styled "AutoTune Pro 11" by Antares) is the flagship of the original pitch-correction line. It pairs quick automatic tuning with a detailed graphical editor, and version 11 adds a built-in harmony generator.

Auto Mode: real-time pitch correction, from natural-sounding to the hard-tuned effect, with formant, vibrato and Humanize controls.
Graph Mode: detailed manual pitch and time editing, note by note, for natural vocal tuning.
Harmony Player: new in version 11, a four-part harmony player built on Antares' Harmony Engine, with MIDI triggering and mix controls for each voice.
ARA2: works directly inside Logic, Studio One, Cubase and Nuendo.
Smart MIDI Mapping: right-click any control to assign it to a hardware controller.

It's sold as a perpetual licence or as part of the AutoTune Unlimited subscription. The current version is 11.6.

When to use it

Auto-Tune Pro 11 is the reference the rest of this category is measured against, and the only rated plugin that combines real-time hard-tune, a full graphical editor and a harmony generator. Melodyne 5 and RePitch 2 go deeper for transparent note-by-note editing, while Waves Tune Real-Time, MetaTune and Graillon 3 cover the automatic tuning sound for much less money.

Best for: the signature hard-tuned vocal, tracking through tuning, quick fixes in Graph Mode, and harmony ideas without a separate plugin.
Genres: hip-hop, trap, pop and R&B, and any modern vocal production.
Look elsewhere if: you mainly need transparent editing of polyphonic parts (Melodyne 5) or you're on a budget (Graillon 3 or Waves Tune Real-Time do the effect for a fraction of the price).
Tip: Antares now also sells a streamlined AutoTune (2026) and the newer AutoTune Advanced; compare them before buying Pro if you only need automatic tuning.

What producers say

Reviewers treat it as the standard, and version 11 as a solid rather than radical update.

Sound On Sound (John Walden, 2024) found the new harmonies "really rather impressive" and called the update "evolutionary rather than revolutionary", while still an excellent choice for pitch work.
MusicRadar (2024) praised the formant shifting, the simple interface for quick fixes and the detailed graph editing, calling it one of the best pitch correction plugins around.
Gripes: the price; SOS also wanted harmonies triggered by MIDI notes rather than only CCs, and found MIDI Learn less complete in VST3 than in AU.
