What it does
Articulator is Antares' digital talkbox. It takes the formants and amplitude from a vocal and applies them to another sound, or to a built-in noise source.
- Talkbox effect: a vocal shapes an instrument so it seems to speak, in the vein of classic rock talkbox guitar.
- Noise source: a built-in noise generator can be shaped by the voice instead of an instrument.
- Throat modeling: Antares adds throat modelling and amplitude modulation control.
When to use it
Articulator is a software alternative to a hardware talkbox, with no tube or mouth hose needed. It is closer to a vocoder than to pitch correction. Antares' own Vocodist is the choice if you want a keyboard-played vocoder.
