What it does

KolinMB takes the Kolin vari-mu limiting amplifier and splits it into three bands. Analog Obsession calls it "the most colorful multi-band compressor".

Bands: three-band compression, with crossovers at 50 Hz to 1.2 kHz and 1.2 kHz to 12 kHz.
Per band: attack (1 to 50 ms), release (0.1 to 3 s), input gain up to 40 dB, mix, and an external sidechain.
Master: +/-20 dB output and a master mix.

Version 1.0 is free from the developer's Patreon.

When to use it

A multiband version of a coloured limiter, so each range gets its own vari-mu behaviour and its own blend. Use it when you want tone as well as control; for transparent multiband work, FabFilter Pro-MB or Waves' C-series are more surgical.

Best for: mix bus and mastering colour, and drum or full-mix glue.
