Vintage-style discrete three-band equalizer. Free, analog-modeled plugin from Analog Obsession.

What it does

Analog Obsession models an early-70s discrete, Class A three-band EQ with a selectable mid band and fixed low and high frequencies. Vintage-style transformer models sit on the input and output.

Low and high: fixed at 60 Hz and 10 kHz, +/-15 dB in 3 dB steps.
Mids: selectable from 700 Hz to 3 kHz, with 0 to 8 dB of gain.
Extras: auto-gain compensation so EQ moves don't change the level, oversampling, a bypass button and a resizable interface (50 to 200%).

Version 2.0 is free from the developer's Patreon.

When to use it

A quick, stepped EQ for broad moves rather than surgical work. The fixed shelves and limited mid range make it fast to dial in, and auto-gain keeps A/B comparisons honest.

Best for: adding weight and air to drums, bass, guitars and vocals, and gentle tonal shaping on buses.
Look elsewhere if: you need adjustable frequencies and Q. FabFilter Pro-Q 4 or a parametric like TDR Nova covers that.
