What it does
Space Control 2 Imager is a simplified stereo width tool from Studio DMI and Acustica Audio, made in collaboration with Hardwell. It is aimed at producers who want quick, mono-safe width decisions without technical detail.
- 3-band width: separate width controls for the low, mid and high bands.
- Phase Limiting: one central knob that limits phase problems, so widening stays mono-compatible.
- Large controls: an enlarged interface built for immediate feedback.
- Same engine: built on the Space Control 2 processing, in a downsized structure.
- Scope: fewer options than Space Control 2; sidechain input and five bands are left to Space Control 2 Pro.
In the DAW it appears under the Studio DMI name, not Acustica or Acqua. Studio DMI handles development and updates, while Acustica distributes it and provides support. The product page did not show a trial.

When to use it
Space Control 2 Imager is the pick for fast width moves when you don't want to keep checking mono. Compared with Ozone Imager and Wider, it adds a Phase Limiting control that protects mono compatibility while you widen. Compared with S1 Stereo Imager or StageOne 2, it offers far fewer controls and no detailed positioning, but it is quicker to set. Its three bands give more control than single-knob wideners like Wider.
- Best for: quick, mono-safe widening on synths, pads and buses.
- Genres: Electronic & EDM and Pop.
- Look elsewhere if: you need sidechain input or five bands (the full Space Control 2 Pro has them), or detailed stereo repositioning (StageOne 2).
