What it does

Equalize is Acon Digital's parametric EQ, billed as "precision EQ with unmatched sound transparency." It pairs freely adjustable bands with a choice of phase behavior for mixing and mastering.

12 bands, 8 filter types: low cut, low shelf, peak, tilt, bandpass, notch, high shelf and high cut, each with adjustable gain, frequency, bandwidth and resonance.
Variable slopes: filter slopes can be set anywhere from 3 to 120 dB per octave.
Three phase modes: zero-latency minimum phase, phase-preserving linear phase, and mixed phase with latency adjustable from 5 to 120 ms.
Per-band channel routing: each band can work on left, right, mid or side.
Display: real-time spectrum analyzer and an optional piano keyboard to line bands up with musical notes.

When to use it

Equalize is a good fit when you want a transparent, flexible static EQ with variable slopes, M/S per band and a choice of phase modes, without extra features. It lacks the dynamic bands, spectral dynamics and more elaborate interface of FabFilter Pro-Q 4, and it is less simple than Waves Renaissance Equalizer. Like IK Multimedia's Linear Phase Equalizer and ZL Equalizer 2, it is clean and precise.

Best for: transparent corrective and tonal EQ on tracks, buses and masters, including mid/side mastering moves.
Genres: all; it is a general-purpose tool.
Look elsewhere if: you need dynamic EQ bands or analog coloration; Pro-Q 4 or a console-style EQ covers those.
Standout: mixed phase mode with adjustable latency, a middle ground between minimum and linear phase.
